On Saturday, March 7 at 1:00 PM ET (view in your time zone), the South Asia Solidarity Network (SASN) will host a virtual panel discussion titled “Immigrants, Progressive Politics, and Wars: How Can We Organize?”
The event will bring together diaspora organizers and community members to reflect on how immigrant communities are connected not only to political developments in the countries where they now live, but also to ongoing wars and regional and global conflicts. The discussion will focus on how these overlapping realities shape political engagement, solidarity, and organizing across borders.
The panel will feature Lekha Kanchinadam of the Rutgers Anti Caste Collective, Jahan Chaudry from the Saturday Free School for Philosophy and Black Liberation, Isra, a student organizer, Mina from South Asian Left Activist Movement SALAM and Sajjad Hussain of SASN. Each speaker will bring distinct experiences from grassroots organizing, political activities, and community mobilization.
The panel aims to create space for dialogue on building collective responses to global crises while strengthening connections within the diaspora.
